Determine Core Target Systems
An early step in any cybersecurity program is to identify your critical assets, which are the assets that will cause the most impact to your organization’s mission. In this assignment, you will work to identify the core target systems in the organization.
For this assignment, you will determine core target systems and processes in organizations at risk from global threats for one of the 16 critical industries that you select. Create a paper with your insights and do not report or summarize any attack occurring at present or other historical events.
Targets include machines, data, persons, and stakeholders. While sources might be global, do not exclude indirect attacks through local parties external to the organization. Determine the systems, probable methods of entry, diffusion, exploration, and likely exfiltration options. Include specific technical details and implications.
Your determination must be presented as a formal paper suitable for use by a high level member of the selected critical industry. Include at least one table and one figure.
Length: 6-page paper, not including title and reference pages, one table, and one figure
References: Include a minimum of 7 scholarly references. Cite at least 2 different peer-reviewed academic research studies relevant to your approach for this assignment. These specified references should not be in this course and have been published in the last 2 years.
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA standards, and include a plagiarism report.
